[It's with a good deal of nervousness that Hinata finds himself pacing around the playground, face red and sighing every once in a while, and that's exactly how Tsumiki will find him when she arrives. It's not because he's having war flashbacks to his first date - because this is the way to the morgue, after all - nor is it internal flailing over the... underwear she'd gifted to him during the gift exchanges.
No. It's still over something that happened five days ago, which has never really left his thoughts, but it feels more important now than ever. It's been pulled to the forefront of his mind, whether Hinata has any say in it or not.
That hug... If it's something we both wanted, then...
He's let himself get swept up in things in the days since. Focusing on the present issues at hand has always been easier for him than actually thinking about these sorts of feelings. But he doesn't really have a choice about it now.
Hinata knows that Tsumiki is someone important to him that he wants to protect. Even if he can't fix what's already happened to her, it's what he's always wanted to do as he started to really understand her. And if he reconciles that with the feeling in his chest on that day...
Even if I don't want to think about what it means, I still...
I still can't deny I want to do it again.
Thoughtlessly, words slip out. And perhaps he'll be unlucky enough for Tsumiki to hear them.]

[HI HINATA. Mikan's arrived now, puppy tucked up in her arms as she enters the playground. Truthfully, for all her exploring, she hadn't really bothered to come in here before-- the playground hadn't been high on her list of rooms to take note of, so now it has her attention.
She sets the puppy down and it goes bounding for Hinata initially, bouncing around him happy before shooting off to sniff around the room. Mikan giggles a little, smiling, before turning her attention shyly on him again. Her expression turns curious and expectant. What did he want to ask!!]

Ah... Tsumiki, you... You heard that...
[Because of course she did. He really does have both the best and worst luck in this place.
He reaches down, almost distractedly, to give the puppy a pat when he comes to him before leaving the little one to his own devices. It gives him time to think for a moment, even if he's not really sure what he should say.
It's... probably better to be honest, but...]
...Geez. [He sighs, rubbing the back of his neck.] This isn't easy at all, is it... But I suppose I shouldn't leave you hanging.
[He pauses. Then glances to the side.]
I'm warning you ahead of time, though... It's sort of dumb.

She watches him with a quiet anxiety though, not sure where this could be going or what would be asked of her.]
